When you run a cone search you get the same result if there is no object or it is outside the coverage of ZTF. It would be helpful if the result could show that it is outside the coverage area. I got caught recently by looking for a transient on a CV detected by Gaia. I eventually decided it is just outside the ZTF coverage so there is nothing shown at that position.
Also could the result of a search within the coverage area show the number of times and when that field has been imaged even if no transient event has been observed.
