Sunshine sound doesn't work any more after switching the distro

So I used sunshine in Ubuntu 21.04 (X11) And the sound works perfectly fine. But after switching to Manjaro (X11) the sound is not present on the client device.
Currently, I have switched to Kmsgrab (Wayland) but still the same result.

I have also tried setting sunshine as the output device (which is new, I think) but same result

In the terminal type: pactl info | grep "Server Name"

You should be getting something like this:
Server Name: pulseaudio

If you get something like:
PulseAudio (On PipeWire x.x.xx) <-- That would likely have something to do with it.

I did not expect this reaction, so after looking it up, Ubuntu wasn't using unity anymore for a long time xD
No, apparently I am using Gnome 3.

All right! Gnome 3 is using the Mutter compositor and this compositor has a bug: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/1184

So apparently there isn't much to do there.
You could experiment by getting the coordinates of the cursor and then manually draw it into the stream, but I don't know if this would be even possible with Wayland. :(

It'll come down to best effort.
There are no standard API's that will allow me to capture the mouse cursor.
Looking at the extension you've presented, it seems to render the eye surrounding the cursor directly in Gnome, which you wouldn't need Sunshine for.

For any compositor based on wlroots, there's a protocol that would allow me to capture the screen with the cursor already blended in.
For KDE, it seems to allow starting pipewire sessions without user interaction, but this is also non-standard across Wayland.

There is some light at the end of the tunnel, though.
For all compositors allow me to query the location and size of any output. This will make it possible to give correct absolute mouse coordinates :)

With QT you can render the cursor locally if you optimize it for remote desktop sessions.
This is not optimal for games, but they usually render the cursor in software <-- They'll have the cursor embedded in the frame.

Oh no KMSgrab doesn't work in full-screen :( (yuzu XWayland)
I hope so much this is an XWayland issue, and it goes away automatically (I've read a lot of problems related with XWayland and KMS grab hopefully we don't need XWayland in the future)

I just merged a pull request with a fix for Pulseaudio through Piperwire.
It's on the master branch. You can either compile from source, or wait for the next release 😉 .

Pipewire is an abandoned branch for screencasting using Piperwire.

Oh I think it doesn’t work because I used PipeWire applications.
I can try later this day to try with PulseAudio over pipewire applications (so apps that doesn’t support pipewire)
