Date tests failing when server is not utc #202

Expected behaviour

The date tests should pass regardless of the server timezone.

Actual behaviour

The date tests are dependent on the server timezone being +0:00.

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

change your vm timezone.
Run the tests.
