Hodl Invoice changes from accepted to canceled

I was trying out hodl invoices for an application and it seems to be a very nice concept. But yesterday something went wrong when testing between two nodes.

Node 1 made a hodl invoice that was paid by node 2 at first the invoice state was changed from OPEN to ACCEPTED by node 1 but after a few minutes it suddenly changed to CANCELED and the following message appeared on node 2 that made the payment:

INCORRECT_OR_UNKNOWN_PAYMENT_DETAILS @ 2

Is this normal behavior for hodl invoices? If I understand the documentation correctly I would expect the invoice to only change from ACCEPTED to CANCELED if either the htlc expires or if Node 1 cancels the invoice itself. But not by a random event or anything that node 2 could do right?

Plus couldn't find it anywhere, but on #2022 the below todo is described which would make implementing hodl invoices a lot more useful. Is this already being worked on by change?
