Today we deployed the 500th version of the Liberapay website. It includes a few changes to the “Giving” page https://liberapay.com/about/me/giving/ as well as some improved error pages and a corrected implementation of the email domain check.

On average the Liberapay web app has evolved every 3 days since its launch in February 2016.

Aujourd'hui, nous avons déployé la 500ème version du site Liberapay. Elle comprend quelques changements de la page "Giving" https://liberapay.com/about/me/giving/ ainsi que des pages d'erreur améliorées et une mise en œuvre corrigée de la vérification du domaine de messagerie.

Stripe is now officially available in five more European countries: #Czechia, #Romania, #Bulgaria, #Cyprus, and #Malta. https://stripe.com/blog/stripe-launches-in-five-more-european-countries

If you live in one of those countries and you use Liberapay to receive donations, then you should go to your “Payment Processors” page and connect a Stripe account: https://liberapay.com/about/me/payment/

If your country still isn't supported by #Stripe, you can preregister: https://stripe.com/global#signup-form

With these 5 countries, Stripe is finally available in the entire Eurozone. However, it's still two countries short of being available in the entire EU, as #Croatia and #Hungary still aren't supported yet.

Avec ces 5 pays, Stripe est enfin disponible dans toute la zone euro. Cependant, il manque encore deux pays pour être disponible dans toute l'UE, car la #Croatie et la #Hongrie ne sont pas encore prises en charge.

We've been asked if we could quickly implement new features in Liberapay so that it could replace Bountysource, which has been doing shady things. We can't and we don't want to. Encouraging people to pay for a specific issue to be solved is problematic, it creates bad incentives instead of providing stable funding for the proper maintenance and development of a project.

If you still think bounties are a good idea, then you can try to revive FreedomSponsors.

We've been asked if we could quickly implement new features in Liberapay to allow users to fund work on specific issues, like @Bountysource does. We can't and we don't want to.

Our goal has always been to provide stable funding for the proper and long term maintenance and development of projects. Encouraging people to pay for a specific issue to be solved wouldn't bring us closer to reaching that goal.

On nous a demandé si nous /pouvions rapidement mettre en place de nouvelles fonctionnalités dans #Liberapay afin qu'il puisse remplacer #Bountysource, qui a fait des choses louches. Nous ne pouvons pas et nous ne voulons pas. Encourager les gens à payer pour un problème spécifique à résoudre est problématique, cela crée de mauvaises incitations au lieu de fournir un financement stable pour la bonne maintenance et le bon développement d'un projet.
