dictcomplete.kak

This script enables completion using a dictionary in buffers that usually contain lots of plain text (e.g. asciidoc). After a certain minimal amount of alpha-numerical letters has been typed (c.f. the dict_min_chars variable below), the completion will kick in a try to propose several candidates fetched using the system’s aspell utility.

A completion menu will pop up under the current word assuming the conditions for the completion to be triggered were fulfilled (and no candidate is available from the builtin engine), listing all possibilities with the value face.

Variables

dict_min_chars

Integer variable that controls the minimum amount of characters that have to be typed in an alpha-numerical word to trigger the completion.

This value is inclusive and defaults to 3.

dict_lang

String that contains the language of the dictionary to use when fetching candidates, as per aspell's standard (e.g. en, en-US).

The default language is en.

dict_size

Integer variable that holds the size of the dictionary to be queried, as per aspell's definition. A generic implementation of this tool usually defines the following values:

  • 10: tiny

  • 20: really small

  • 30: small

  • 40: med-small

  • 50: med

  • 60: med-large

  • 70: large

  • 80: huge

  • 90: insane

The default value is 30 (small).
