Turkish Translation #108
Comments
That would be great, the timing is up to you if you look at the forks link for this repository you will see several "in progress" translations. Just make a pull request when you are ready. One thing you may want to notice is the design branch has a redesign of the site that we plan to use next year you can see it at https://learnlatex.netlify.app/ That should not affect the body of the lessons but the arrangement of some page description and table of content data is slightly different in that branch. I would work from master branch for now, but just a warning there may need to be some small re-arrangements later, |
Thanks for the rapid response and suggestions David, Sure, I'll be able to make the tweaks on the translation whenever required. New design look fantastic by the way; elegant, simple and to the point. Everything you would want from a tutoring website. |
@jonasjacek you may like to read the previous comment:-) |
@erdaldogan - Thanks for the flowers! :) It's still heavy work in progress. Especially the next days will bring many updates. It would be good, if you use the I have just prepared everything for you: It's safest to start with datafiles (e.g. translations.yml, etc.) for now. Another good starting point would be working on the frontmatter of files in the /tr directory: Changing of language code, URL's, translations of titles and descriptions, etc.. Once this is done, Turkish pages will be visible like the other languages. |
As you may have seen the new design is now live at learnlatex.org, I have updated |
Not that anything was not clear but I was quite busy with the schoolwork recently and unable to allocate any time for this. However, I just started with the fixed strings. First PR is soon to come :) |
Hi, just to let you know the Turkish translatiion is still available at https://www.learnlatex.org/tr/ but we have temporarily dropped it from the main menu (in common with other incomplete translations such as the Chinese and Japanese translations). |
David,
Thanks for the notification. I am having a busier than average semester in the school. I know it may seem like I neglect the translation but I have to direct my focus to my studies. I want to finish what I have started as soon as I have the energy to do so :)
Regards,
Erdal

Hi all,
I would love to translate the content to Turkish in my spare time if translations are still welcome. I'm aware of the guidelines, TRANSLATIONS.md and took a look at other issues with 'translation' tag. Would there be anything else I should know?
It may take some time for me to complete all 16 lessons, would it be a problem?
Thanks.
