MER should work with all the most used awk interpreters?

We know MER works with gawk but it doesn't work with mawk. However, mawk is the interpreter that comes by default in Ubuntu, from what I understood.

So, if we want MER to be really easy to install, maybe we should consider make it compatible with at least the most used interpreters of awk.
