Two different users report issues trying out the grpc-samples in Linux and Windows (but successfully run them on macOS).

This issue needs a lot of details to make sure we can narrow down the scenario where to reproduce it. Details could include:

  1. commit SHA-1 in https://github.com/lagom/lagom-samples/
  2. project run (is it grpc-example-java or grpc-example-scala or both?)
  3. JDK version and vendor (Oracle, AdoptOpenJDK, Zulu, ... 1.8_u262)
  4. sbt version
  5. OS version

  3. JDK vendor: Oracle - Version 1.8_u262
  4. Sbt version - 1.3.13
  5. Windows Build 19041.508 and WSL-2 with Linux 20Lts
