Publication thumbnails slow to load

When I go here: https://www.ludwigtumoratlas.org/publications, the publication thumbnails appear to take a long time to load. But if I wait long enough they do eventually all load. This was using Chrome.

I could not replicate with an incognito Chrome window nor with a new window in safari. So maybe this was spurious. Maybe Clarence was using all my bandwidth!!! He is showing images via zoom right next to me ;)
