Dark mode

How can we configure different colors whether in dark or light mode?

I switched to dark mode, I noticed that the background color for WARNING was blue. So I changed it to dark yellow. But now that I went back to light mode, it's stuck in dark yellow—I thought it would go back to the old light-mode background.

So am I right to say that by default, WARNING has different background colors based on dark vs light mode. But if I customize the color, it's for both modes?
If so, how can I reset this background color—the default was blue for dark mode but at least the default colors worked for both modes.
