Today I stumbled across a video for sshfs, this is super easy and maybe better than all the NFS sharing I've been doing.
It's pretty simple, just install sshfs, create/copy keys and mount away.
I have a VM with Windows 10 and was running out of disk space, rather than build new, I could add space and resize the partition to use it all. This reference worked like a champ.
