as a stop-gap for blatant hate a simple word list would go a long way i believe.

ideally it would come pre-loaded with a list from somewhere - i'm sure there's many online i'm not sure which would be the best at this moment

the user would have full control of:

whether the system is enabled at all
the word list in use
the ability to add their own words on top of the active list

along with the ability to control what to do when a word is encountered, in a shout:

hide the shout completely and leave a message in its place
keep the shout visible with the word censored in some form (reminds me of steam)

same for profile bios n profile NAMES especially - and have special options for artists, tracks, albums, and tags as those are seen quite differently
