What are the chances to get this upstreamed into the linux kernel?
Imho it could be argued, that this should be rather handled by udev instead of the kernel itself.

On the other hand, as described in https://github.com/abrasive/xmm7360, udev could only handle this with using acpi_call, which isn't distributed with the kernel.

@Gottox can you elaborate a bit on where and how xmm7360 should be nicely integrated upstream?
