THSL-300-8D Lead Screws or similar seems to be a very popular and according to many worthwhile upgrade to an i3's Z axis instead of threaded rod and trapped nut, so I bought a pair and they're on the way here, meanwhile I was going to print some i3 x-axis ends and z-axis parts to swap to and I looked into the configuration for the i3 openscad files and I can't find any mention of leadscrews.

Only i3 models I can find that use leadscrews for Z are "rework" ones which I'm not a fan of. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:362019 and they're only provided in .stl and sketchup formats.

Would be nice if there was an option to use leadscrews.

I know this is 4.75 years old but I'm working on adding new stuff to this parametric i3 implementation because I, too, am not a big fan of the vanilla branch. This includes, but (likely) not limited to, leadscrew support, selectively backporting "nice features" from vanilla i3, modernizing the openscad code (if applicable) and some fixes for bugs or anything (subjectively) awkward I found when I built my first DIY i3 (now defunct but I plan to resurrect it and add several power-ups).

The fork is located at: https://github.com/dogtopus/Parametric-i3. Feel free to check it out.
