In some situations acme-dns runs in virtually public networks, such as IPv6 environments. In these scenarios it might not easily be possible to limit based on CIDR.
Suggested solution
Add simple authentication by token. As the connection to acme-dns is https secured, adding a simple (random) token support would allow to run acme-dns in public settings.
