Ultra Dock display out causes reboot when standby or reboot #66
Comments
I'm having the exact same problem. Sadly don't have a solution either |
Is there a display port connector? I don't have dock so I cannot test. |
@jloisel Yes the dock has few display outputs: 2 units of Display port, 1 DVI, 1 HDMI. |
Maybe display port works better. |
@swatchie-1 how much monitors can you connect to the laptop and in what ports? i am thinking about getting a dock too. |
On the laptop the Mini Displayport works flawlessly. On the dock HDMI and Displayport work. They, however, cause a kernel panic when shutting down / rebooting / sleeping. So your best bet is to connect only one external monitor through the Mini Displayport. Maybe Daisy-chaining might be an option too. This however hasn't been tried yet. |
@Nastygamer How much 1080p monitors can you connect concurrently? Doest it support 2k or 4k? |
I currently have 2 FHD screens:

Has anyone managed to solve the kernel panic reboots when connected to 40A2 Ultra Dock on a T440p?
The dock's USB, Audio, Display are all working. It's only when the laptop sleeps or reboots while connected to the dock's DVI/HDMI that causes the kernel panic reboot.
