The -c mode, for comma separated values, is not a true CSV mode. Because filenames can contain commas, the filenames must be enclosed in quotation marks. Like this:
d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e,"emptyfile.txt"
Remember that
d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e,"foo,bar"
would be valid!
