Summary

The upcoming shutdown of the AzureEdge.net content delivery network is announced in this GitHub discussion. The Jenkins infra organization depends on that content delivery network in:

We need to switch from using AzureEdge.net to download from another location.

Reproduction steps

The download instructions from Microsoft point to the aka.ms content delivery network. That seems like a safe choice for our downloads.

The documentation recommends a static URL that can be obtained from the HTTP redirect that is returned by the Akamai CDN at aka.ms.
