Version Numbering Details

Hi, firstly thank for such great library. I just wanted to let you know that the recent changes you had made had a breaking impact on our application which was using this library.

I always thought the major version number changes when there is a large change, in this case upgrade to version 6. It would be good if the package version had changed to 1.0.0 :) anyways, just my thoughts 👍
