Cloudflare has a new API key system that allows users to scope out permissions to their account via API keys, rather than an all or nothing global access key.
The global API keys still work, but when managing multiple domains on your account, giving out a Global API key to multiple systems is not ideal. You run a higher security risk of the account and its properties, as well as the hassle of updating multiple services whenever regenerating the API key. Having a dedicated API key for a service with its necessary permissions given is a much better and safer route.
