Rapid Access is a powerful shortcut management tool that allows you to create and manage custom keyboard shortcuts for quick access to applications, files, and websites. With a simple press of the Caps Lock key, you can access the Rapid Access interface and execute your predefined shortcuts effortlessly.
- Download: Download the code as a
.zip
file.
- Extract: Extract the contents to a location of your choice.
- Install AHK: Ensure you have AutoHotKey installed on your device.
- Run: Once extracted, run the
Rapid-Access.ahk
file with AutoHotKey.
- Setup Installer: Installer to make the process of getting started easier and cleaner.
- Clipboard Manager: Builtin hotkeys for managing multiple shortcuts (useful for coding)
Toggling the GUI |

- Caps Lock: Toggles the Rapid Access GUI on and off.
- Shortcut Entry: Type your shortcut directly into the GUI entry field to run, no need to press enter.
- Regular Caps Lock: If you need to use the regular Caps Lock functionality, press Alt + Caps Lock.

- Open Settings: Open the Settings window using the `?` key as mentioned earlier and navigate to the "Current Hotkeys" tab.
- Built-in Hotkeys: You'll find a table displaying built-in hotkeys and their descriptions.
- Custom Hotkeys: Below the built-in hotkeys table, there's a scrollable table for custom shortcuts.

Adding Custom Hotkeys |

- Navigate to "Add Hotkey": In the "Settings" window, go to the "Add Hotkey" tab.
- Fill Out Details:
- Shortcut: Enter any combination of characters for your custom shortcut.
- Comment: Provide a brief description of what the shortcut does.
- Link: Specify either a web link or a file path from your system. You can either type it in or use the "Browse" button to find the file.
- Add Hotkey: Once you've filled in all the details, press the "Add Hotkey" button.
- Reload: Remember to reload the script using the `rel` hotkey after making any changes to custom shortcuts, as the custom table updates dynamically, but the script itself doesn't.

Dynamic Link Searching (DLS) |

- Navigate to "Add Hotkey": In the "Settings" window, go to the "Add Hotkey" tab.
- Add a web link with a 'REPLACEME' to search within a link, e.g.:
- Add Hotkey: Once you've filled in all the details, press the "Add Hotkey" button.
- Reload: Once added, reload the script. To use DLS, type your shortcut followed by a space.

- Open Settings: To delete a custom shortcut, open the "Settings" window and navigate to the "Current Hotkeys" tab.
- Select Shortcut: In the scrollable table of custom shortcuts, select the one you want to delete.
- Remove Shortcut: Press the "Remove" button located below the table to remove the selected shortcut.
- Reload: Remember to reload the script using the `rel` hotkey after making any changes to custom shortcuts, as the custom table updates dynamically, but the script itself doesn't.

- Terminating the App: If you need to stop Rapid Access from running, simply press the "Terminate App" button in the "App Settings" tab.
