When opening a page on an Android device, scrolling initially works fine, but it gradually becomes laggy and eventually stops responding.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Scroll continuously for some time.
Scrolling gradually slows down.
Eventually, the page freezes and becomes unresponsive.

Expected behavior

I'm experiencing similar issues on Windows (Chrome/Edge). When scrolling up and down, the page starts dropping frames, even on a fairly powerful PC.

(edit2: issue persists, seems to be related to having too many event listeners setting off at the same time?)
