In order to allow online participation during the breakout sessions during the IPFS 2016 Q3 Workshop, we will be utilizing the online web conferencing tool called Zoom
Download and setup is free to use and is compatible with PC, mac, Linux, iOS and Android. You can get setup by heading over to http://zoom.us/ and following the prompts to sign up for a free account.
A few things to know:
Depending on the settings of the room, your camera may automatically turn on when you join the meeting. If you are concerned for privacy (please note our privacy disclosure), please be prepared for that to happen by covering up your camera beforehand.
It is super easy to turn the camera and your mic on and off. Both options will be at the lower lefthand side of the window.
Due to noise levels, the host of the meeting may automatically mute your mic while others are talking.
There are different viewing options for participation, at the top right hand corner you’ll see the viewing options. We recommend going with the brady bunch option by selecting "gallery view" instead of "speaker view" in order to see who all is participating.

We should also mention the Slack channel for asking questions (cc @jbenet) -- relevant for the privacy thing as people who don't wish to be recorded can ask questions in writing.
@bronger You're going to want to follow the steps for "sign up for a free account" on the front page. Updated the primary comment with this information - thanks for asking!
