USB image on NCS platform

Hey!

It seems the USB image is not built when the giso is for the NCS platform. We have to use https://github.com/venkateswarannagarajan/usbboot. Would it be possible to integrate it in gisobuild instead?

Hi Vincent,

Could you be more specific about which platform you're referring to, and also which XR release(s) you're interested in. For some platforms and releases the USB image creation is integrated into the GISO tool (specifically for LNT platforms, such as NCS540L and NCS5700) from the 7.5.1 release onwards. For older releases, and for eXR platforms (such as NCS540 and NCS5500) the separate USB build step is currently required.

Hi Neil,

This is regarding eXR for NCS5500 and NCS540. The releases we are looking at are 7.6.2 and 7.8.2.
Would it be possible to generate the USB image for these platforms/releases using gisobuild?

I've passed on your message to the appropriate team. It's not something the tool currently supports but I'll leave it to them to comment on what would be possible in future.
