Using IdeaStream on a translated site #82

Hi,

I have been using IdeaStream for almost a year now on my french website, and it works great!

I recently installed WPML because I wish to create an English section to my website. After the installation of WPML, IdeaStream doesn't seem to work so well with it. The main problem, is that I cannot figure out how to have an IdeaStream page in English and another page in French with different ideas. Is there a way I could have two IdeaStream sections, one for each language? Where the French language site would have the French ideas posted from the site in that language, and the English site would have ideas posted from users on the English site? If not, is there a solution to have IdeaStream work with two different languages?
The second issue, is that urls cannot be translated for both languages. I would like to have two different urls for both languages. For example /ideas in english and /idees in french.
IdeaStream is the only plugin I have on my website that does not work well on a translated site. Is this due to how the plugin functions and generates urls?

Also, I would just like to mention an issue I encountered and was able to get around when installing WPML with IdeaStream. When I first activated WPML, IdeaStream was active on the website. It caused my website to crash multiple times and I had to go into WP-CLI to deactivate WPML to make my site accessible again. I figured out that if I disabled IdeaStream and then activate WPML, it worked. After WPML was activated, I could activate IdeaStream again and it works ok. I guess this was due to an incompatibility between both plugins. I figured I would let you know.

Any help with this issue is very much appreciated! If you need any more details about my configuration, I will be happy to give them.

Best regards,
Rhys

Sorry to read I'm a bad guy as it's the only plugin that is not compliant with WPML 😺 I'd probably use a Multisite config to ease the fixing of this situation. If you have a fix, please post a PR, i'd be happy to review it.
