Model file is defined by a unique model name. The templates are validated against this name whether they are applied to the current model. To give this validation more flexibility and to reuse the model for a different set of templates, model types have to be introduced. In the model file, expressions that follow the model name have to be parsed as model types. Wenn validating the templates, not only the name but also the types of the current model must be used.
