It's inconvenient for me to have to set up the command line application, install additional webapi plugins - to simply use the gtk torrent client and automatically update my torrents. The app has great potential and it would be incredible as a plugin.
I would probably set this up if I was running a deluge server that I wanted this for, but not for a desktop client at the current state.
I may be able to contribute for this feature in the future, but I have other stuff currently as well.

Read the readme of that project. It is unmaintained and superseeded by your application, which is why I am coming to here.
Edit: and now I notice that the repo owner is the same.
the updatorr's readme says to use this tool, requesting a plugin form sends me back to that unmaintained, archived tool.
