I had the same thing happen to me when I tried McPaint paint last night. Running on MC 1.14.4 with Forge 1.14.4 - 28.1.0.

I created the brush. Went outside to a dirt block and used the brush. The drawing interface came up and I drew a happy face. Then I pressed done and the block I was drawing on immediately turned into a block of coal ore. There was no painting on it (I dug around it in all directions to make sure.

Here is my full list of mods.

Can you provide me with a log? Should be under logs/debug.log, as I cannot reproduce the issue...

Here's a ZIP file with 4 logs from last night. It should be in one of those.

MC Logs.zip (Google Drive)

I'll try to get something cleaner for you tonight.

ok wow sorry I just noticed you have optifine installed. This is very likely causing the issue.

Is McPaint not compatible with Optifine? Seems like an odd bug.

It's really not. Optifine changes a lot of rendering related stuff, and it is closed source, so I cannot even debug this issue further. And optifine breaks many things

Ah. Good to know.
