Seems to be an upstream issue in xtermjs. It's easily reproducible by visiting https://xtermjs.org/ with Brave or Tor. Turning off hardware acceleration fixes it for Brave there but not in Lightning Shell app.

On Tor browser the issue seems to be a blocked feature, read under 2. HTML5 Canvas Image Extraction:
https://2019.www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser/design/#fingerprinting-linkability

This will probably need to be resolved by switching to DOM as the renderer in ttyd: xtermjs/xterm.js#3271

Just adding this is not an issue in firefox 101.0.1

I can confirm this is still an issue on Tor Browser 11.0.15

Allowing the onion site to use html5 canvas image data fixed the problem.

I don't see this setting anywhere on the MacOS version of the Tor browser 11.5.1. Where do you find that setting?

If it doesn't prompt I think you should be able to find it to the left of the site URL (little onion symbol), there you should see something like "Connection secure" with an arrow, from there "More information" -> "Permissions"

With brave Browser, just deactivate Brave shields.
