jExifToolGUI User Manual

Basis for confusion

Java / Python

  • The manual claims that jExifToolGUI is "a cross-platform python pyside gui for exiftool"
    i.e., <title>jexiftoolgui: a cross-platform python pyside gui for exiftool</title>
  • The manuyal claims that jExifToolGUI is "a cross-platform java Swing gui for ExifTool"
    i.e., <meta name="description" content="jexiftoolgui: a cross-platform java/swing gui for exiftool" version="1.6.0+">

and <img src="[images/jexiftoolgui-splashlogo.png](view-source:https://hvdwolf.github.io/jExifToolGUI/manual/images/jexiftoolgui-splashlogo.png)" alt="jExifToolGUI:jexiftoolgui-splashlogo.png" title="jexiftoolgui-splashlogo.png"><h1 class="settitle">jExifToolGUI: a cross-platform java Swing gui for ExifTool</h1>, Etc.

Question:

  • Is there in fact an earlier Python implementation in a repo somewhere? Archived or otherwise?
  • If so, is there a handy link that can be provided to that resource?

Thanks! 😄

That was a stupid mistake that nobody ever found :)
You get a jExifToolGUI and pyEXifToolGUI for free ;)

The python version is here: https://github.com/hvdwolf/pyExifToolGUI
2~3 years after I started jExifToolGUI, I discovered that pyside was brought to life again. If I had known that I had never started a java version (which I had to learn from scratch)
