Following the Slack link on the new HPSF website, I'm having trouble figuring out how to join the workspace (where
I hope this isn't a case of me forgetting how to use Slack due to not joining new workspaces frequently enough):

  • If I use the email address that I normally use with Slack, it tries to mail me a 6-digit verification code, but the mail it sends me has the subject "No account found" and says that there isn't an account on High Performance Software Foundation tied to this email address (which seems accurate).

  • If I try to create a new account using the link to https://hpsf.slack.com/signup#/domain-signup, I'm unable to due to this restriction:

You can use any account with the domain:

  • llnl.gov
  • linuxfoundation.org
  • rice.edu
  • ugent.be
  • cdac.in
  • kitware.com
  • fz-juelich.de
Don’t have an email address from one of those domains?
Contact the workspace administrator at High Performance Software Foundation for an invitation.

But then I don't see any clear way to contact the workspace administrator.

This makes me wonder whether the HPSF slack is intended for general public use. If so, it feels like more information about how to join is needed. If not, it seems like it shouldn't be part of the icon bar at the top of the website.

You will need to create a new account.
I am not sure whether we can edit the message on signup page but I suppose we could add it as an FAQ on the website.
In the meantime you can shoot me an email at lebrungrandt(AT)ornl(DOT)gov and I will send you an invite.
