The real temperature is something we all strive to achieve :). I use an extender at an angle and still get off readings. Also Humidity will be affected by temperature. I guess is harder to find a coefficient to multiply by in order to get a value closer to reality.
I still haven't gotten this code to work, but I did find a solution to the temp problem. You can get thin sheets of mica on amazon, sold as microwave repair parts. If you put an adhesive heat sink on the chip, you can cut sheets of mica to sit in between the pi and the enviro. If you point a tiny 5v fan through the little duct that creates, you get true temps. At least, I got within half a degree of an alcohol thermometer I happened to have on hand.
I'm not a programmer and don't know how to work with GitHub, so I created a fork and added a function to compensate temperature output to a real one:)
