Checklist

  • I have updated to the latest available Home Assistant version.
  • I have cleared the cache of my browser.
  • I have tried a different browser to see if it is related to my browser.
  • I have tried reproducing the issue in safe mode to rule out problems with unsupported custom resources.

Describe the issue you are experiencing

I am able to create a picture entity, markdown card, custom card and webpage card to show my local media file. On my dashboard, I am able to see it play. When I cast the video, it doesn't show on my chromecast tv. I do see the box where it should be playing. I am able to cast all other items and dashboards.

I am using this for an automation that is already casting a dashboard, so using the media_player causes a delay when it cycles back to my original cast.

Describe the behavior you expected

The dashboard to play the video I have in my www folder and also my local media folder (tried both).

Additional information

Currently, I cast my stats dashboard from team-tracker with no issues. When my team scores, I need my local media file to play then, go back to my casted stats dashboard. Funcitonally, I have this working, but I cannot figure out how to get my local video to actually play. Very new to ths so any help is great!
