Hi,
I found out about xrayutilities https://github.com/dkriegner/xrayutilities

It is advertised as

xrayutilities is a collection of scripts used to analyze and simulate x-ray diffraction data. It consists of a Python package and several routines coded in C. For analysis the package is especially useful for the reciprocal space conversion of diffraction data taken with linear and area detectors. For simulations code for X-ray reflectivity, kinematical and dynamical diffraction simulation of crystal truncation rods as well as fundamental parameters powder diffraction is included.

It is based on Python >3.6, h5py, script, numpy, lmfit, matplotlib

Maybe it could be used for plugin development in Pydidas as it uses very similar libraries ? It seems to be still under active development.

Thank you for your suggestion. Of course you can build plugins based on xrayutilities, if you have the need.

I looked at the documentation and it seems as if it might be mostly useful for more advanced analysis in reciprocal space. If you have a use case for that, please feel free to develop analysis plugins for that use case. As usual, support from my side is available.
