onIdle doesn't fire on ipad in sleep mode

In ipad safari when the web application is minimized by pressing the center home button and if the application is set idle and the device is locked which then goes to sleep mode.

After the idle time set is over and if the ipad is unlocked and the application is opened then you will notice that the onIdle handler is not fired(May be we can put some alert in der) and you don't see an alert.

It seems when application goes to sleep mode the timer is kind of suspended or paused.

Seems that this is due to a specific iPad behavior. Did you found any solution for this issue?
