A problem that has plagued anonymous communication networks is the fact that with current deployment methods, implementing new changes to the protocol is a pain. Running nodes need to be redeployed. As we want to minimize such mistakes as much as we can, we should look into ways to ease this.

A recent method for doing this is called Flexible Anonymous Networks.
