I would like to suggest to moving to https://github.com/rwengine/openrw .

My reasoning is that re3 project is legally doomed. All effort which will go into project based on decompilation = lost time.

The OpenRW project is built from scratch and seems to be in long-term best solution to get FOSS engine which has ability to run across different platforms and systems.

I don't think because of based on decompile means is doomed. The whole ScummVM based on decompilation. R just forced this project to take down because they want fill they pockets whit crap defenitive edition. Then invade the original developer with lawyer army and inifniate money.

Well, legally in most civilized countries it's no-go. It was when I was kid, it's now. That's a fact.

On other hand, when you have code, which been written by you and you're not stealing anything from original, you can do it legally.

Luckily writing game engine, which is compatible with other game assets is legal (if you don't just copy-paste code, which includes decompilation).
