Heat source switch #155
Comments
Hey! Thanks for writing this up! Can you follow the instructions below to share some more details about your system? I don’t have a dual heat source myself, so need an example. |
Here you go. It's currently in gas-only mode. |
@ghazel Can you set the system in both the 'system in control' mode and the heat pump mode and send me the config files for each of those? I think this is controlled by a field "idu only". And I think 'idu only' means gas. But need confirmation of the other settings values as well. |
You seem to be correct. "idu only" is "gas heat only", "odu only" is "heat pump only", and "system" is "system in control". (my guess would be "idu" stands for "Indoor Unit" and "odu" stands for "Outdoor Unit") All three modes: |
Looking for this as well. Good to be able to force heat pump most of the time and switch to gas only when outdoor temps are sub-zero. |
This could also be useful when the house is on generator power, to reduce electrical load. |
Describe the solution you'd like:
My Carrier Infinity has an option for Heat Source: ["system in control", "gas heat only", "heap pump only"] I would like to manually switch to "gas" or "pump". Optionally it would be nice to see which state the switch is in, but given the "system" complication it's not so important.
Describe alternatives you've considered:
Manually pressing the button?
Additional context:
I'm automating the "gas" vs "pump" setting via HomeKit.
