Turn out that I have been able to launch calculations placing the initial xyz file inside a directory... so I guess that in my home directory there is a file creating some kind of interference that maybe the program is not able to delete due to permissions to do that) or some (maybe I launched a calculation as root by mistake) or some other error of this kind... |

In fact, this file was automatically generated by crest, whose execution stopped just after trying to run the above mentioned command....
Both CREST and XTB were runing fine on my system, but something changed few days ago. The only thing that I have done to the server is to update CIDA drivers on a different (but sharing NFS) machine.
