Hi,

I would like to ask for implementation of a feature, that has been in the Sony a7 cameras (and probably others as well) for quite some time already - possibility to acquire the GPS location via connection to the smartphone. TThis would then give a user the possibility to choose either longer battery (without activation of "location link") or compensating for missing GPS module in the Hero 12 Black by using the available smartphone GPS and BLE communication instead.

Sources from Sony how this is implemented on theirs digital cameras:

Best regards
Michal

This is not something that Labs can implement currently. Labs has no networking connection or controls, need some of Open GoPro to be merged into Labs. I do see the value, but not likely anytime soon.

Understood - Could You then somehow "foreward" this request to Open GoPro, so it could be placed in their's "road map" of features to be implemented ?

I'm looking forward to have the posibillity to add GPS data into Hero 12 somere in the (near) future :)
