Feature Request: More Customsiation #92
Comments
"Soft-Bred" hahhahahhahah nice 😂️ ok for the customization. i'm usually trying to find a good balance between giving as few options as possible (make the choices for the users) and giving still some flexibility (mostly tho the customization for Wooshy was for fun). so, wondering, how important are those customizations? also, my guess is that once you've set something, you're gonna stick to it. do we really need a bunch of different custom presets? i don't think more stuff is good (usually it's not). it also makes the app heavier, harder to maintain, more prone to bug, etc. so, trying to weight how much those customizations are really needed here. thanks! |
Yea fair enough, the presets aren't super important to me. What I would really like is custom positioning, as normally when using apps like Raycast or Alfred, the textbook goes in the centre. When it comes to colours and such, preferably I'd like to get as close to raycast as possible, as personally that's the best design for quick access bars like wooshy, spotlight and Alfred. So more granular control over the blur, outline, colours, padding and position would be the best options for me. If you don't want to make the UI very clunky with all the requests, I would also be fine with custom CSS injection, if that makes it easier. |
alright. currently you should be able to do that with the
haven't tested Raycast in a while. do they allow UI config?
oh. that's even worse 🤣️ no clunky webshit Electron style in there. i'd rather work hard and come with something proper. |
Raycast allows for a compact / cozy mode. The padding i was referencing was for Alfred, as they let you change almost anything.
But imo, the best way to make a product more enjoyable is to let the user make it look like something they would like to use, i.e customsoation. Up to you though, i've been using this for around 2 days now and i like it so far. These UI changes would just make it more enjoyable. |
alright, will check it out. thanks.
honestly, that's debatable. i personally prefer LESS options. don't wanna fiddle with stuff. i want the app to get the job done, and i rely on the devs/designers to make the best choices for me. all my stuff (like Alfred) are using the default themes.
yes. when users come with feedback or requests that make the app overall better, i tend to implement them. but i do it in a way that is sustainable for the app development, so it may take some times (and also differ a bit from the user requirements). i tend to reach a conclusion through dumping thoughts and thinking out loud, which is what i do here. so i'm not saying no (nor yes 😅️), but just sharing thoughts. you doing the same is highly encouraged! (thanks for your time and energy on that.) |
kinda wanna add customization for the Targets |
Here are some customisation options i think would be nice to have:

The Target
Position
