Hello, the last commit to this repository was on Mar 29, 2019. Does it mean that the glusterd2 is already deprecated and will not be developed any more?

Well, the priorities have changed and we're not actively focusing on it for now. But that doesn't mean the project has gone completely dead. If we have interests, contributions are welcome and we can certainly revive it back.

Oh no :( I really liked the idea of REST API, JSON everywhere and thin arbiter.

Is there any chance to have thin arbiter outside glusterd2?

The thin-arbiter support has now been introduced in glusterd.

@vpandey-RH Saw that and it will be in 7.0 release right?

  • any ETA for this release?
  • I've built RPMs on the 7.0 branch, sadly I have issues with Gluster client freezing

  • any ETA for this release?

If there are no issues reported during the testing of 7.0rc3 (which is tagged as of 2 days back), the release may happen in a week or two.

Would be great to get more details on this. Please open an issue @ github.com/gluster/glusterfs/issues so we can take a look.

The thin-arbiter support has now been introduced in glusterd.

Docs should probably be updated:https://gluster.readthedocs.io/en/latest/Administrator%20Guide/Thin-Arbiter-Volumes/

(Currently supported only by GlusterD2)
