Hi Guys,

I've got a bit of an issue at the moment with random flickering LED'S behind the tv usually a white flash. I've tried everything, all the components are powered and earthed from the same power supply.

The only thing I can think of now is the 4m run of cable from the Pi to the LED'S, what everyone else using any advice? I'm thinking of swapping mine out for some cat5 cable to see if Interference is the issue.

Thanks Luke

Hi Luke!

I had the same issue and I replaced my cable with a cat5 cable. Choose two colors you want to use (e.g. green/orange) for CLK and DAT. Connect the two corresponding twisted white cables to ground on both ends (GPIO PIN 25 on the Pi). Make sure cable is twisted all the way to the pins. My cable between Pi and LEDs is 3m and I have no problems with white flickering anymore. When I used a regular non twisted cable I got white flicker if the cable was longer than 40 cm.

Hi
I used an USB cable and it works perfectly, because it is shielded.
