Acts as Setlist

acts_as_setlist is a ruby gem loosely based on the famous acts_as_list gem. The similarities end at the ability to order items in a list - and that's where the fun begins. The impetus for this project is a desire for a simple web app that can generate setlists for my bands that go beyond random lists of songs. I hope it can be expanded to accept arbitrary heuristics applied to subsets of items in a setlist.

The planned featureset of acts_as_list includes the following:

Order items under a setlist (ala acts_as_list)

Randomly sort items in a setlist

Apply constraints that alter the item ordering relative to position in the setlist [opener|closer]

Apply constraints that alter the item position relative to another item [couplets|triplets]

Apply constraints to a setlist that alter the ordering [group by]
