Date and Date Range parameters formatted as integer

I have problems with the Date and Date Range Parameters. When I set up a Parameter Date as Type = Date, I get back back an integer value instead of a date string.

For instance

select {{ Date }}

returns 2009 as value if I pick 2024-08-07 in the input field, 2010 if I pick 2024-08-06, and 2008 if I pick 2024-08-08.

After some testing, 2024-08-30 and 2024-09-30 both return 1985, 2024-09-01 returns 2014, and 2024-08-01 returns 2015. It seems that the system always starts the month at a value depending on the month's length and then counts down, so that the last day of the month is always 1985.

I guess one could calculate a date with this rule, but according to the docs and by common sense, this does not seem to be expected behaviour. I could not find anything in the settings where I could correct this behaviour either. Am I missing something here?

I figured it out, the Parameter needs quotation marks like select '{{ Date }}' to return a proper date.
