I think the ultimate graph should be the one that correlates scihub data with catalogs of libraries in every city/state. Right now we are presuming that some people do have access, and some don't, but we don't really know. Unfortunately I think that would be possible only for very few universities... (btw, your blogpost is awesome)

That would be really great, unfortunately that's really hard to do as the geographic data only goes down to city level. I discussed something similar yesterday with @philippbayer. You could try to find universities/institutions that are so remote that they basically are their own city, so no non-academics will influence the data.
