Hi there, the simplest option would be to uninstall that package if no Nvidia hardware is being used. Or, you can simply answer "yes", and it won't cause any problems.

Thanks for the reply. This aging NUC6i5 has no Nvidia hardware, so wonder why the driver was installed in the first place. I was starting to think Gecko was bloated, but on searching, I found this is an openSUSE Tumbleweed issue, not a Gecko issue: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/520818-zypper-dup-and-Mesa-dri-nouveau . People who have tried to uninstall the driver have had problems with it reinstalling in future updates. So I just answered "yes" and we'll see. Perhaps openSUSE will fix this. |

Hi
I'm totally new to Gecko. My main distro is Arch. I also use Fedora and in the past Debian. Gecko appeals to me as a Linux I might be able install for others new to Linux, as it's meant to work out of the box. Since I favor Arch and Fedora it shouldn't surprise anyone that I choose Tumbleweed, also a rolling release, and the LXQt version.
The install went smooth but when I tried to update with 'zypper dup' there were 1317 packages to update. Everything seemed normal. Then I was asked about accepting a license agreement:
Of course, using LXQt plus having no NVIDIA hardware I choose "no". Then the entire update was cancelled. So I'm dealing with a distro that suddenly doesn't look so newbie friendly anymore.
I've seen it suggested to use zypper dup with the --no-allow-vendor-change option. But before going further I thought I'd ask here to get opinions based on the latest information and geared to Gecko.
Any help appreciated.
Kendew
