Sometimes the HDFS post install commands fail, causing the install to fail:

Wed Nov  4 17:49:07 UTC 2020 - Waiting for HDFS instance to be ready...
Wed Nov  4 17:49:24 UTC 2020 - Waiting for HDFS instance to be ready...
-mkdir: java.net.UnknownHostException: gaffer-hdfs-namenode-0.gaffer-hdfs-namenodes
