Enhancements from @RaymondBalise:

Please add:

  • sections on reprex and how to make a stack overflow account (with enough rep to post questions).
  • how to use git (and related tools services) to help when “the code worked yesterday.”
  • How to roll back and diff files.
  • Copilot

You may want to:

  • show styler and lintr; they are quick and easy and will make students look conscientious when they share code.
  • info on Markdown before R Markdown. Enough people use reddit that the pure markdown stuff may resonate.
  • teach xfun::n2w() when you cover Rmd and/or quarto
  • teach ggconsort and forestplot (they are needed for most of the projects I work on).
  • teach renv; sometimes it's confusing, but in general it is excellent

Also: "Show off rUM. That is, you should talk about how to write an academic paper and discuss/provide the headers for R Markdown and Quarto projects."
